Toccata Nocturna
An original program proposal
60 min
Over the past few years, Aarón Ribas has sought ways to showcase the The entire scope of the organ’s capabilities. His instrument has for him the same capacity to invite recollection as it does for impetus.
And he has found in the night the best framework for all this to happen: not only a space for introspection, but also for displaying dazzling fireworks
Intimacy and strength
In this ambitious program, the intimacy of the nocturnes contrasts with the strength of the toccatas. Thus presented, the works that make up the program are enhanced by the contrast between them.
The power and depth of the toccatas by Bach, Heiller or Migó are highlighted alongside the delicate lines of Chopin's nocturnes and Debussy's Claire de Lune.
This dialogue between some of the greatest composers is the result of a long exploration that has led Aarón Ribas to play in important European cities during the last years.
